چکیده

Association of AmiodaroneUseWith Acute Pancreatitis in PatientsWith Atrial Fibrillation: ANested Case-Control Study Amiodarone hydrochloride is an antiarrhythmic drug frequently used in the treatment of atrial fibrillation (AF). Isolated reports1-3 have suggested that use of amiodarone may cause acute pancreatitis. To our knowledge, this potential adverseeffectof amiodaronehasnotbeenexplored in large studies. We assessed whether use of amiodarone or other antiarrhythmic drugs indicated for AF management is associated with developing acute pancreatitis in a large US population.

A case of probable Amiodarone-induced pancreatitis in the treatment of atrial fibrillation: a literature review and case report

Amiodarone is an effective medication used in the treatment of several different arrhythmias. Its most well-known adverse effects include pulmonary fibrosis, thyroid dysfunction, and hepatotoxicity. A less common side effect is acute pancreatitis. A 67-year-old male being treated for atrial fibrillation in rapid ventricular response with Amiodarone developed acute epigastric abdominal pain 24 h...

بررسی اثر پروپرانولول و آمیودارون بر پیشگیری از فیبریلاسیون دهلیزی به دنبال عمل جراحی پیوند عروق کرونر

Background: Atrial fibrillation is the most common arrhythmia following CABG. This complication can cause palpitation, significant hemodynamic instability and thromboembolic events. This prospective randomized study evaluate prophylactic effects of propranolol low dose amiodarone and high dose amiodarone in patients candidate for CABG. Methods: Three hundred consecutive patients undergoing ele...

Clinical Significance of P Wave Dispersion in Prediction of Atrial Fibrillation in Patients with Acute Myocardial Infarction

Background: P wave dispersion (PWD) is defined as the difference between the maximum P wave duration (Pmax) and the minimum P wave duration (Pmin) in 12-leads of the surface electrocardiography. The aim of this study was to evaluate the values of PWD during atrial fibrillation (AF) after acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Methods: We prospectively evaluated atrial rhythms of 350 patients (251 m...

Investigating the Effect of Inflammation on Atrial Fibrillation Occurrence by Measuring Highly Sensitive C-reactive Protein (hs-CRP)

Introduction: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most prevalent cardiac arrhythmias that cardiologists and internists encounter. The goal of this article is to clarify an overview of the evidence linking inflammation to AF existence, which may highlight the effect of some pharmacological agents that have genuine potential to reduce the clinical burden of AF by modulating inflammatory pathways. Mat...

Acute pancreatitis and amiodarone: a case report.

Amiodarone, a class III antiarrhythmic drug, is one of the most effective drugs used in the treatment of ventricular and paroxysmal supraventricular tachyarrhythmia. Adverse effects of amiodarone including pulmonary toxicity, hepatotoxicity, aggravation of arrhythmia, and thyroid diseases are well understood. A 66-year old woman with acute pancreatitis was admitted to our hospital with the comp...
